Welcome to Interpreter Services
Interpreter Services provides interpretation and translation to patients of all languages, 24/7, throughout the University of Michigan Health System. Our services include:
- Face-to-face interpretation in over 40 languages*
- High-quality telephone interpretation in over 140 languages*
- Accurate translations of patient education materials and medical records*
- Communication assistance for deaf and hard-of-hearing patients
- Language and cultural competency training for UMHS employees and others
- Interpreter skills training for working and aspiring interpreters
Most of our services are free for UMHS patients and providers. For a fee, we also work with businesses, non-profits and health centers outside the UMHS. We offer affordable interpretation and translation of Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, American Sign Language and Spanish. Contact Interpreter Services for details.
Community Outreach
FREE Pap Test Screening on Saturday, March 24, 2012 sponsored by Verizon and the University of Michigan Health System.
If you are a woman, aged 21 or older, have not had a pap test in the last two years, and do not have medical coverage for a pap test COME GET TESTED.
